Do your software engineers only own iPad and Macs? What about layers? Other apps can do it. You had years to figure out flexibility on work flow. This lack of integration to the desktop version renders this app completely useless. What about using your iPad to rate, cull and do minor edits with existing catalogs? Nope, can’t open a catalog. Why can’t I export the same image to my own storage with ratings or better yet as sessions or catalogs? Only for cloud? I thought the whole idea was to be able to cull photos and rate them on the go? Again only for cloud? Which is a pain and adds unnecessary steps for some. I can’t even rate a jpeg, export it to a convoluted drill down to network storage. Which included jpegs! For many our jpegs are as good or better than our RAW. EIP? Ok fine, make that a catalog or session package that acts like a catalog or session and can be imported on the desktop. Things like lack of film simulations for Fuji is certainly understandable and forgivable. The app UI is good but the features are severely lacking. I am a long time C1 user and love the desktop version. For instance, cloud transferring and synchronization, which you mentioned, will be improved already in our next update.ĭisappointment doesn’t describe how bad this is for me. I will note that the user interface is incredibly simple and highly effective and that they seem to be poised to continually add valuable features, but the release version of this app is very limited. Not only was I disappointed that I could not simply take my iPad on the road and continue working on images that I shot back in the Studio, but the transfer speed of pushing images to the cloud from the iPad is painfully slow. This app does not let you take your existing work on the road, this simply allows you to begin very basic culling and editing of images shot away from your computer. I do not normally write reviews however I felt compelled to regarding Capture One for iPad as its release version is very limited in its capabilities and I did not find that to be as clear as I think it should have been in the product description.
